It may seem like being a solid actor should lead to booking roles, but that’s not necessarily the case. Auditioning is a much different skill set than acting during the tv/film production process, and you will want to practice being awesome at both!
It’s very similar to students who are incredibly smart, but they happen to be bad test-takers. Acting during the production vs. auditioning for it is a similar relationship.
The goal is for everyone to feel comfortable learning how to establish strong connections during audition scenes.
Your skill level doesn’t matter for this class. If it’s your first year acting or your 20th year acting, you will gain powerful tools from this class!

Actors will receive a link before class with all scenes instructions and details
Class One:
Amber will talk for about 1-1.5 to start off the class.
This portion will include a Q&A along the way. She will be covering the following topics:
Breakdowns,
Headshots,
Agents/Managers,
and Self Tapes.
She will show actors her process of selecting actors to audition.
Then Amber will teach everyone how to make casting directors and producers to want to keep watching an audition.
(This skill is the same if the actor is auditioning in person or a self tape from home.)
Amber will show sample videos of this.
She will make sure that everyone understands the most important person in the scene is the other person, not the actor doing the scene.
Then all actors will play a really fun game via Zoom, that will focus on making each other feel very specific emotions.
This game will help work on what Amber was just teaching & will reinforce making sure the person you are talking to is feeling specific things.
After Class:
Everyone in class will receive a LINK to an Eco-Cast where they can upload the first 30 seconds of a scene.
The goal is that everyone will understand how to connect during the first 30 seconds, and this will make (the casting director and/or producers) want to keep watching the audition.
Class Two:
Amber will evaluate all of the auditions live during class, and show all actors what they did right and what they can do better next time.
Then she will show them more audition tips that will help everyone.
She will wrap up with another Q&A for actors and families.
Most importantly while learning we will laugha lot, all be supportive of each other, and have a great time while working on auditioning skills!
