About Alexandria
Alexandria Walters hails from the “birthplace of the cowboy” aka Pleasanton, Texas. No seriously, there’s a festival and everything. She spent most of her childhood journaling and performing as a theater actress just planning her escape. As soon as she could, she moved to the big city of Austin and attended the University of Texas where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. During her time at UT, she was an active member of Texas Student Television, a student-run public access channel, where she co-created a weekly satire news series called “Totally Not News”. She interned in a casting office close to the end of her college days which spiraled into a decade-long career and counting. Her notable works in the casting world include: MY ALL AMERICAN, TEXAS RISING, ALL THAT, SAVED BY THE BELL and most recently the second season of WE WERE LIARS. Alexandria currently splits her time casting and writing.

Things you will learn:
Intro & Q&A ❤️
Objective: Help young actors build confidence with text, deepen character understanding, and improve improvisation and on-the-spot thinking skills.
How to make the most of your audition and make it fun!
Monologue Work:
Review the Actor’s chosen monologue together.
Practice improvising around the monologue:
Start “off-book” – encourage them to put the script down.
Improvise the scene while staying true to the character’s internal life.
Focus areas:
Memorizing the text as much as possible.
Deeper emphasis: Understanding the character’s internal world — what they want, how they feel, what’s happening emotionally beneath the words.
Goal: Help students get “out of their head” and make the words feel natural and authentic. 💜
Audition Interview Questions:
Actors can choose to work on common audition interview questions instead of (or in addition to) the monologue.
Alexandria will ask personal, on-the-feet questions to simulate real audition or interview situations.
Focus: Building comfort thinking and responding spontaneously (especially useful in virtual/Zoom auditions).
