About Rose:
Rose is a Casting Associate at The Telsey Office!
Rose Bochner is an LA-based Casting Associate with extensive experience in television, film, and theater. She is known for her work on This Is Us, Atypical, Little America, and Hotel Artemis. She is also a theatre director and co-founder of Shakespeare in the Square.

Arrive 10 minutes before the start time and be ready to take lots of notes!
DURING…
Class Starts - with an in-depth and interactive seminar between Rose and the actors
Rose’s Lesson Plan:
Each class will use what Rose calls "open rehearsal". She will begin with a Q&A, then actors will perform prepared material. She will then discuss/break down each scene, and actors will work again.
Core Topics
Text / Scene Analysis
- Actors learn to break a scene into playable units: given circumstances, objectives, obstacles, tactics, beats, and subtext.
Character Arcs
- Focus is on how a character changes (or fails to change) across a scene or an entire piece.
What to Focus On When You Get Material Last Minute
- Practical survival skills for cold reads, self-tapes, or last-minute callbacks.
Identifying Tone
- Find clues in the script to identify how to attack the material. Train to adjust your physical and vocal choices accordingly, based on the writers intentions.
Goal:
Analyze a scene quickly and translate the analysis into playable actions.
Track and play a clear character arc.
Make strong, simple choices under time pressure.
Adjust their work to serve the tone of the material.
Use feedback immediately and productively in the room ☺️
