  • Talent House Academy (map)

Turnarounds, Triplets, and Rhythm Jokes!

In this class, we’ll get down to the nitty-gritty of line delivery, and some specific techniques that can help you get the casting directors, directors, and producers you audition for laughing out loud! Make them walk away thinking, Man, that kid was funny!
— Adam Tait

* Class is Limited to 13 Actors to Maximize Participant Interaction and Engagement During the Online Sessions*

CLASS BREAKDOWN:

After Registration:

  • Participants will receive instructions to send in a “slate” video, showing personality allowing Adam to accurately choose scenes for each person

1st Zoom Work Session- You will learn:

  • 1. Identify and deliver the jokes in the script.

    •   It's exciting and impressive to a writer when you can show that you understand their script, and can move the audience with their material. (I heard our showrunner refer to it as "making the words sing!" - Adam)

  • 2. Find unintended comedic gems .

    • When you apply these techniques, you will find moments in the scene that even the writer didn't see!  And it raises you from just another actor saying the lines, to an artist they feel like they can collaborate with; like you are someone who will inspire them, and give them more ideas; which is a vital characteristic of a series regular on a long running show!

The techniques you'll learn will give a set of tools to methodically approach those lines, and make them work for you!

2nd Zoom Work Session:

Each Actor will receive individual ‘call times’ to work their scene live with adam and receive real-time notes and feedback on:

  • Ensuring technical comedy is tight

  • Characters are strong and developed

  • Finding ways to incorporate your uniqueness and stand out to casting directors

3rd Zoom Work Session:

  • Actors will perform with scene partners incorporating notes from the previous week working across from other actors as they would on set.

  • Receive notes and redirections now from a directors point of view

  • Learn to translate performance from audition to stage

We will go beyond character to focus on specific comedic techniques in detail.  You'll walk away with some reliable tools that will help make all of your auditions and performances consistently excellent!

AND MORE!

Even the Pro's have a coach on set, and we are lucky enough to have him at THA! Adam will be coaching our aspiring actors & teaching you how to audition on the same level as the kids working on TV NOW!

Ever wonder what they did in the audition that was so special and different to book that amazing role?

This is your chance to find out, and put it to work for yourself!

As an actor you spend more time in classes working your craft more than anything. But when the cameras are rolling, the experience you can get putting your performance work, and technical skills to use in this environment is essential for preparing yourself for when it matters. Your success as an actor will be based largely on how well you know your own strengths, and what you bring to the table that is uniquely yours, different from any other actor!
